6 Second Abs

Buy Cross Crunch online ->>

I work pretty long hours so home fitness equipment is much better for me than trying to get to the gym in the wee hours of the morning or evening. My stomach is one of the areas I'm working on, so the 6 second abs machine seemed appealing. I have wood floors and so crunches are tough. I thought I could get the 6 second abs and workout while watching TV. I purchased it from Target for about $60.

Right away, I knew I didn't like it. It makes this clicking noise as you press. There are three clicks in a full movement down. The clicks are supposed to let you monitor the speed you are pressing down, as well as making sure you press all the way down. While I liked this feature in theory, after a while the clicking noise become extremely annoying. I can't believe they couldn't produce something with a slightly nicer sound.

As a tall guy (6'2") I also found the thing to be too short to use comfortably in the sitting position. It would have been nice if it was a few inches taller, and there could have been much better padding on the bottom of the device. No pain no gain, I know, but the pain should come from your muscles, and not from the workout device pressing up against your legs in an uncomfortable way.

The workout was alright at the highest level of resistance. However, due to the sound and the discomfort, I stopped using it regularly, so now it's just a big piece of useless plastic. 6 Second abs is a great name in one sense. That's about how long you'll use it for!

A House

There are lots of decisions you regret. Something you shouldn't have said. Someone you shouldn't have "consorted" with. Something you shouldn't have eaten. The one that really hurts though is something you could have afforded if you had only purchased it a few years ago.

Owning a home is part of the whole american dream mythos, and just 5 years ago, they were actually affordable. I really don't understand how people manage now, unless you had a home to sell that you are using the proceeds from to get another one. I guess there is the debt option. I've heard of people with 50 year mortgages(crazy talk!).

In my situation it's particularly galling because I wanted to get a home back then and in my community could have afforded something on the water. Everyone, including my partner, was very against it at the time (for somewhat valid reasons) but now, it's no longer an option. I mean it is, but it would be stupid to pay what people are asking, despite whatever you economist wankers have to say about equity and tax benefits.

Dr. Rhythm DR-660 Drum Machine

As a drummer who has been playing live drums for more than 18 years now, it is somewhat strange to admit that of all the musical posessions I would be most sad to lose, it would be my old Dr-660 Drum Machine. For those of you that don't know what a drum machine is, it is basically a digital electronic device that allows you to create drum tracks using prerecorded samples. The DR-660 is a small black rectangular box about 1 1/2 inches deep, 8 inches wide and 6 inches long. There are a number of touch sensitive square black bads that you hit to activate the drum sounds. Since it's tough to lug around a drumset, I used to take my Dr. Ryhthm to parties at friends houses (friends who had musical instruments) and I could just plug into the stereo and instantly be the drummer. I ended up going to so many jam sessions this way that my finger skills on the drum machine got quite developed and I learned to play patterns on the machine that i couldn't play on an actual drumset (because you have only 4 appendages sadly to use on your drumset as opposed to the 10 fingers you can user on the drum machine. There is a picture of a dr. rhythm on one of SquarePusher's albums, and I'm convined this is where he got the name, from a similar love of the beautiful black box. If you've never played with a drum machine, even if you have no musical training whatsoever, you should give it a go. I have met very few people who aren't instantly hooked.

There are newer models now with many more features and bells and whistles (bell and whistle samples anyway) but you can still get really cheap used Dr 660s on ebay. If you have $50 burning a hole in your pocket, give it a try.

Welcome to Consumity.com

This site is an experiment in virtual, tribal community. More and more we are bound by common consumptive patterns. Did you own a skateboard as a kid? Do you collect stamps? Do you own a sailboat? Far from being just interesting smalltalk, these facets of identity can have important consequences on what your world looks like and what kind of communities you are able to access. Are you an XBox person or a Playstation person? Relations to property is an important part of our modern identity.

To this end, this site allows users to identify and share information around Consumer Communities that they are related to. Think of it as a review site where you get to know other users and learn about how your purchasing decision opens up communal relationships. Vague enough for you? Soon all will be revealed. :)
