I work pretty long hours so home fitness equipment is much better for me than trying to get to the gym in the wee hours of the morning or evening. My stomach is one of the areas I'm working on, so the 6 second abs machine seemed appealing. I have wood floors and so crunches are tough. I thought I could get the 6 second abs and workout while watching TV. I purchased it from Target for about $60.
Right away, I knew I didn't like it. It makes this clicking noise as you press. There are three clicks in a full movement down. The clicks are supposed to let you monitor the speed you are pressing down, as well as making sure you press all the way down. While I liked this feature in theory, after a while the clicking noise become extremely annoying. I can't believe they couldn't produce something with a slightly nicer sound.
As a tall guy (6'2") I also found the thing to be too short to use comfortably in the sitting position. It would have been nice if it was a few inches taller, and there could have been much better padding on the bottom of the device. No pain no gain, I know, but the pain should come from your muscles, and not from the workout device pressing up against your legs in an uncomfortable way.
The workout was alright at the highest level of resistance. However, due to the sound and the discomfort, I stopped using it regularly, so now it's just a big piece of useless plastic. 6 Second abs is a great name in one sense. That's about how long you'll use it for!

6 Second Abs Vs. CrossCrunch
Okay, I can tell from all that you have wrote about "6 Second Abs" is that you are rich and do very very little research.
http://www.crosscrunch.com/ As seen on TV also.
Dude, "CrossCrunch" was right there next to the "6 Second Abs". If it was a snake it would have bit you! Why would you pay $60 for what you would have gotten for only $30. "CrossCrunch" doesn't click, you don't rest it on your legs, and you get more of a work-out from it. Also it has a work-out/diet plan manual as well. I can understand the clicks in the "6 Second Abs" because the "CrossCrunch" tells you not to rush your work-out as well. It says to take 2-3 seconds going down and the same for going back up. Do 12 presses on one side and 12 on the other. Plus you don't rest the object on your legs, adding pressure. You put it to your sides so you can twist it as you are going down so you work out your side abs as well.
"CrossCrunch" is only $29.99, it has no clicking or aplying pressure on your legs, it's very easy to use for both men and women, it has a work-out and diet plan, and it even has a free on-line membership schedule for faster results when you buy or order the "CrossCrunch". Plus you can buy it at TARGET as well to avoid the $14.83 S&H versus the "6 Second Abs's" $19.83 S&H. And lastly, "CrossCrunch" doesn't have FALSE ADVERTISING! Men's Health Columnist & Exercise Scientist Christian Finn did a research on the "6 Second Abs" and found out it isn't 15X more effective then a regular crunch. "6 Second Abs" has no proof or example on how they came up with this. Sure, it may be 2X more effective then regular cruches if you use ALL of the resistance bands, but you get the same if not more of a workout with regular crunches while holding dumbbells across your chest. Unlike the "6 Second Abs" false research, "CrossCrunch" acually did their homework and proves it is 4X more effective then a regular crunch. Go here for proof.

I only have one bad thing to say about the "CrossCrunch". It's kinda tall for me and I'm only 5'7". Oh well, I'll just have to press down harder. So remember in the future to do some research before buying anything.

CrossCrunch
1.) They don't say (can't say?) what university tested the CrossCrunch, if in fact it was university tested.
2.) How many sets of CrossCrunches do you have to do each day to see results?
3.) Do you lose weight if:
a.) you DON'T use the diet but DO the crunches?
b.) you DO use the diet, but DON'T do the crunches?
Cross Crunch
All I have to say is that I had ordered one aver a month ago and it has not come in yet, they had e-mailed me with an order # but it just doesn't seem to work when I want to try and track it down. They have charged my card for it. There is no phone # to call either anywhere on my e-mails or this crosscrunch url thingy. Was this or is this going to be worth it???? I guess I will find out in 9 months, yes 9 months I am due to have my baby in December.
CrossCrunch - a bit biased are we?
Ok, tell me this:
1.)It's 90 secends, or 12 presses on each side, but how many sets per day and how many days until you see any amount of weight loss? Any weight loss if you DON'T use the diet plan? Any weight loss if you DO use the weight plan and DON'T use the CrossCrunch? Just what I thought. The weight plan makes all the difference, not the Cross Crunch.
2.) The ad on TV sys it's university tested. What university? Uh huh. They can't tell you that, can they?
